Case study
THE CHANNEL
Two libraries on one channel, 26,000 views apart
Typeform’s channel has 9.87K subscribers and 281 videos. The median of the last 30 uploads is 247 views.
The top video is “Say Hello to Typeform”, a 4-year-old brand-style video, at 6.4M. Behind it sit more brand storytelling: “Technology Imitates Art: The rise of the conversational interface” (1.1M, 9 years old) and a conversation with Rich Diviney (756K).
The latest uploads are almost all Help Center clips: “What is Logic in Typeform?” (70), “Hide questions in your form” (20), “How to add branching logic” (33).
Those two libraries do different jobs, and almost nothing sits between them.
WHAT THE DATA SHOWS
The gap: videos that answer a buyer’s question
Brand films reach people, once
The big numbers are creative work that earned attention in its era, with 6.4M on a brand film. It is hard to repeat and does not teach a new visitor how to use the product.
Help Center clips serve existing users
Short, specific, useful and rarely found by non-customers. At 20 to 100 views they are doing their support job, not a discovery one.
The in-between is where buyers are
The two latest videos that stray toward use cases (“Automate customer acquisition with lead routing & scheduling”, 67 views; “automate intake, payments & scheduling for client onboarding”, 101) point in the right direction, but they are still small. Buyers search for the job (“client intake form”, “lead qualification form”, “survey templates”) long before they search for a feature name.
WHAT WE DO WITH IT
What we do with it
A use-case library. 20 videos titled as the job: client intake, lead qualification, event registration, customer feedback. Each ends in a template the viewer can copy.
Compare against the alternatives. “Typeform vs Google Forms for lead capture”, built from real buyer questions.
Keep the Help Center clips, change how they are found. Playlists by job, chapters, and a link from each help article.
Bring the brand films back as the top of the funnel. Re-cut the best ones into Shorts and pinned intros for the use-case videos.
Questions a SaaS founder would ask
Can a big brand film replace a content plan? No. It earns awareness, once. A plan earns searches every day.
Why do our help videos get so few views? They are titled around features. Searchers use their own words for the job.
Where do we start? With the five forms customers build most. Each is a video and a template.
